This week I've started to practice graffiti. I've started to practice it on old scrap woodboards since I don't have a wall to work with. I've chosen the colors navy blue, black, white, red, and neon green. I've started off practicing simple designs and drawings such as the crown, a heart, and a clover.
I've discovered it to be really easy and fun. The letters however are somewhat difficult because you have to maintain your hand and keep it steady at all times. The design that I am doing represents high class people and old school types of graffiti.
Something new I learned about graffiti is that it is very popular in Dubai. As I've mentioned in my last post,Dubai is the home to the largest graffiti scroll known as "Rehlatna". I've discovered some interesting facts about Rehlatna. Some facts include that Rehlatna was made using 150 plus artists including both locally and internationally. People would submit their designs to be sprayed on the wall. The wall is in the shape of UAE when you look at it from the top view. I find the "Rehlatna" scroll really interesting because it illustrates the culture, history, and religon of UAE. The graffiti placed on the wall is really touching and I enjoy looking at the wonderful art of Rehlatna.
